Anthony Torres

Anthony Torres, also known as “AT” began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in his late teens in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he earned his first Blue Belt, soon making his way to a Purple Belt. At that time, he chose professional MMA fighting over continuing training in the gi. Though this slowed his promotion to his current black belt in BJJ, it didn’t stop Anthony from becoming something of a celebrity.

Anthony is a Superbrawl, Shooto, Icon Sport, X-1, PXC, and UFC veteran. In 2005, he was selected as a cast member on Season 2 of The Ultimate Fighter, where he was given the nickname “The Crush”. After Anthony decided to retire from MMA with a record of 8-3, he found his way back to Jiu-Jitsu, acquiring his brown belt from Pedro Sauer black belt Rylan Lizares. He then relocated to Tucson to pursue his career in federal law enforcement where he found his home at NSBJJ. He became a silver medalist in the Absolute Division and a bronze medalist in his weight at 2016 No-Gi Worlds. Anthony was awarded his Black Belt under Sean Huff and Paul Nava in 2017.
